Wendy Copeland PA-C
Wendy Palen Copeland, PA is originally from Cape Girardeau, Missouri. She completed her undergraduate studies in Chemistry at Valdosta State University. Copeland then attended South University in Savannah for her Masters as a Physician’s Assistant. Prior to joining Valdosta Family Medicine, she worked as a PA for a General, Vascular and Thoracic surgeon at Archbold Hospital. When not striving to be the best PA possible, Copeland enjoys spending time with her husband, Nick, daughter Caroline, and son Collier, whether it be at the beach, playing sports or just lounging around her house.
Matthew Thomas PA-C
Matthew A. Thomas was born in San Diego, Ca and enlisted in the United States Air Force after high school. He spent 10 years as a dental technician then got selected for the Physician Assistant Program and received his Masters degree from the University of Nebraska. He spent over 10 years as a Physician Assistant in the United States Air Force with one deployment to Afghanistan. He joined Valdosta Family Medicine in September of 2011. PA Thomas is married to Amy and they have five children together: Brianna, Jacob, Maggie, Hannah, and Hayden. His hobbies include coaching, watching sports, chauffeuring his children to events, and relearning middle and high school math to help his children pass each of their respective grades.
Charles Watts, PA-C
Charles Watts Jr. was born in New Orleans, Louisiana. He joined the U.S. Army shortly after high school and attended the Russian Language Course and then Special Forces training at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. He left the Army after 22 years of service which included four deployments to Afghanistan. He graduated with honors from Valdosta State University with a degree in Biology with a minor in Chemistry. He then attended Emory University where he received a master of medical science. Charles joined the VFM staff in January 2016. He enjoys reading and spending time with his wife and son.
Allie Vogel, PA-C
Allie Vogel has been a board-certified Physician Assistant since 2014. She was born and raised in Northeast Wisconsin. She attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison to complete her undergraduate studies in Medical Microbiology and Immunology. She obtained her Masters of Medical Sciences in Physician Assistant Studies at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, IL. As a military spouse, Allie has spent 6 years working as a PA in various Urgent Care settings around the country, before joining Valdosta Family Medicine. When she is not working to provide the highest quality of care to VFM patients, Allie enjoys reading, exploring, and spending time with her husband and 2 daughters.
